Spring has sprung

It’s official – the cherry blossoms are here 🙂

Also a yellow butterfly and some bumblebees are about.

Plus i saw some baby geese already in the polder.

The greenhouse already has autonomously growing chard and rucola.

Greenhouse Day1

So the greenhouse arrived! We got the boxes open and had a look at the instructions, which are in german. 250 screws to be joined to 250 bolts!

First step is to work out how to site the greenhouse on the land. Whilst most people would probably put a concrete base, that doesn’t really appeal and we thought we would set the greenhouse on wooden beam. This isn’t completely a new idea and actually does make sense considering we are putting the structure on top of earth, covered by plastic, covered by gravel.

We didn’t get that far but we did make pile of gravel and earth, to be reused. The wood is cut and ready to be placed.
